Project Overview
Clear Blue Energy’s Flexible Heat Pump project is focused on evolving the conventional Vapour Compression refrigeration cycle for heating, delivering key benefits:
- Increased Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCoP). Modelling indicates some 20% increase is possible.
- More efficient and rapid defrosting of the evaporator without interrupting the ongoing provision of heat from the heat pump.
- Ability to integrate multiple sources of heat input, e.g. the recovery of ‘waste’, solar thermal or geothermal heat into an air source heat pump.
